It is a research facility, and the occupants are primarily faculty, staff, and graduate students. It includes offices, Computer Labs, Computer/Server Rooms, an Events Space and various Conference Rooms as well as Support Spaces. The renovation included a new building exterior with large expanses of energy efficient curtainwall, and an extended structure to convert the reverse pyramid structure of the existing structure into a rectangular building.

Cooling will be accomplished with a convection type, Chilled Beam system resulting in significant energy savings and noise reduction.

The demolition included the removal of large exterior precast concrete panels which were originally placed as the 1960s post-tensioned concrete frame was being erected. This created the need for careful sequencing for their safe and efficient removal.
