Crownpoint Community School is a Navajo school for grades Kindergarten through 8th. The project was broken into four (4) areas; Infrastructure, Dormitory, K-8 Educational Building and elevated water tank. The infrastructure included provisions for all underground utilities including water, sewer, gas, electric and communication. Parking, access roads, surface drainage and site security were included. Infrastructure also contained the 1,326 sf Central Plant Building for mechanical and electrical services to the remainder of the project. The 26,609 sf dormitory residence includes shared living areas such as living rooms, restrooms/showers, study rooms, activity rooms and dormitory rooms for two students each. The 85,172 sf educational building has capacity for 900 students and includes classrooms, segregated by grade with areas dedicated to special education, science, art, administration, media center, gym, kitchen and dining room.
