CNM Education Collaborative

This project is a joint venture between Albuquerque Public Schools (APS), Central New Mexico Community College (CNM), and the Native American Community Academy (NACA), which brings three distinct educational entities to one facility. The new four-story, joint use high school facility includes an on-site health clinic with pharmacy, administrative and faculty offices, instructional and laboratory classrooms, multipurpose, wellness, and commons spaces. It features a remote central utility plant, large rooftop photovoltaic system, a rammed aggregate pier foundation, open air terraces ringed by landscaped planters at every floor, and an “exoskeleton” created from variety of materials--including aluminum wall panels, perforated metal panels, brick veneer & open brick weave, stucco, and sun shade fins. While only Silver was required, the project will achieve LEED Gold certification.
